There are two type of pneumatic mast in general, locking Pneumatic Telescopic Mast and non-locking pneumatic mast. Non-locking pneumatic mast is used for temporary use like several hours, if you want to deploy the masts for weeks and months, then locking type pneumatic mast would be works. Due to slightly air module molecule leakage can not be prevented by O ring and Y ring from inside of pneumatic mast, so the Non-locking Mast would retract a little bit if the air pressure is going down in 6 hours to 10 hours. By adding locking collar, the mast has a mechanical lock latch pin that thrust into the mast body and physically prevent the mast from retracting.
